Two people on two wheels
Sunset Cycles

We wrote invitations to join us on a bicycle ride to watch the sunset.

When it came to it nobody turned up but we had a lovely time just the two of us.

We questioned why people hadn't come- was the invite to vague? Or not enough time?

So we began writing more to try again with more detail and planned to give much more advanced warning and choose a time which most people would be free. We also stated that the cycle would be on campus in the hope this would be less mysterious.

However, when we discussed it in more detail we both found that we in fact had no desire to meet or talk with other cyclists. We enjoyed the passing interaction as it was and there was already value in the common bond of cycling.

We were happy cycling together just as we were.

Therefore, we used the post it notes that were put in the happy box (previously the complaints box) and wrote these on labels instead and left them on bicycles. So that each one contained a statement from a person who was also happy as they were for something.

We had no need to for feedback with this, we enjoyed just leaving the happy statements out for others and found there was more intrigue in the mystery of whose thought it was and whose bike it was left on.

We facilitated an exchange between two people who may or may not know each other in total anonymity.
